As I lay here this morning listening to the rain fall, I am overwhelmed with gratitude. I am grateful that I can hear and experience the calm and stillness of the moment.
I hear the thunder and see the light peak through window. I am thankful for eyes to see.
As I look around my bedroom, I am thankful for shelter.
I can hear my husband breathing as he sleeps. I am grateful for holy matrimony and companionship. I am grateful for love.
I am thankful for the moment; not focusing on what's going wrong or all the chaos in the world right now. Taking a moment to experience the sounds of life and a living God.
No hustle and bustle today. Not concerned about FB lives and content creation for social media today. Life is more than likes and comments.
Life is about living.
Each day we are given an opportunity to live.
The rain is a reminder of life. Right now, something is growing because rain is falling.
Grass. Flowers. A seed that was planted. Growth is occurring in the midst of the rain.
This is a sacred moment because growth is happening within. We don't get to see what takes place in the dirt after a seed is planted, but we believe that something will happen, and eventually we will see evidence of growth.
Something is happening within you. You may not see it, but I'm sure you can feel the growing pains. The tears you have cried have watered the seeds you have sown, and eventually you will see the growth.
On this rainy day, I give thanks to God and have an attitude of gratitude because I am growing.
I see evidence of growth in my responses.
In my reactions.
In my talk.
In my walk.
In my thought life.
As I wait.
God has smiled on me!
As the rain falls, I realize how blessed I am. I am thankful for what I have and thankful for what God has done, is doing and will do in my life.
Rain is the sound of inspiration and God's love all around me.
The chirping of the birds.
The sound of the wind blowing.
The stillness.
The silence.
The gentle breathing of my husband getting some much need rest.
There is life all around me!
I am encouraged and I encourage you to remember the rain. Remember what the rain signifies and allow God to rain and reign in your life.
